On July 23 -24, the first annual Northeast Scale qualifier was hosted by the Black Dirt Squadron RC in Goshen, NY. Contest Director Danny Carozza and the rest of the club members did a great job pulling this event together. The event venue is the club’s flying field in the middle of the agriculture region of NY state and the field was absolutely one of the finest in the region if not the entire country.
Our own Gerry Yarrish was doing an awesome job of representing Model Airplane News at the event. He flew his 1/3-scale Fokker Triplane and he placed 2nd in the Expert Class!
Gerry has been working with Air Age Media as the Technical Editor for over 25 years. Gerry has been a modeler since the age of 10; he has been flying scale RC airplanes for 30 years and has competed in several scale competition events including US Scale Masters Qualifier in Gardener MA. Air Age Media is very lucky to have him on the Model Airplane News team!
